The mid-reach retinal pencil has a shorter shaft than the standard retinal probe and a right-angled flat application tip to optimise contact for retinal tears, holes, treatment of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), pneumatic retinopexy and can be used during scleral buckle procedures for retinal detachments.
